The loss of a loved one leaves us seeking answers to questions about grief and our culture is often unhelpful when making our way through the maze of feelings that we experience. Grief truly is a journey of emotions as well as physical and social changes. If you have experienced a loss, join us where you can share your story and pose your questions, a place where you can find comfort among others who understand.
Prayer Through Grief
One month shy of her 33rd birthday, Joan Curtis buried her older brother Scotty. Scotty had suffered a closed head injury in a car accident in 1981, and two-and-a-half years later, complicated by his Type I Diabetes, he suffered a stroke and died twenty minutes after being taken off life support. He was 38 years old.
Join us for this Grief Talks session on March 21 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. at the Retreat House (110 Mimosa, Richardson, Texas). We will be focusing on praying through the grief of losing a sibling. Joan will lead us through the ancient practice of Lectio Divina as we find our hope and strength in God through scripture.
