Grief Talks

Grief Talks

The loss of a loved one leaves us seeking answers to questions about grief and our culture is often unhelpful when making our way through the maze of feelings that we experience. Grief truly is a journey of emotions as well as physical and social changes. If you have experienced a loss, join us where you can share your story and pose your questions, a place where you can find comfort among others who understand.

Rhythms & Restoration

Amy Cannady, artist, spiritual companion and someone who is well acquainted with grief as a widow will facilitate Grief Talks on Wednesday, February 21, 6:30 p.m. at The Retreat House (110 Mimosa, Richardson, Texas).

The conversation will focus on “Rhythms & Restoration” using visio divina as a spiritual discipline for ones personal grief journeys. Plan now to attend and invite a friend. Watch Amy tell a portion of her grief story below.  Also, we invite you to become acquainted with her artistic and spiritual gifts by visiting artfulhome.com. Amy acknowledges, “My paintings develop as a personal language.  I honor a thought by making a mark on the canvas.  I do not have to know why that mark must be made and I intentionally seek no control.  My process has been defined by art critics as a ‘Glossolalia’,  a language of its own.  My mentor once implored, ‘paint your passion!’  I paint giving voice to my passion, attending to an Inward/Outward Spiritual Journey.”
